The Jordan 11 IE Low has always been something of a mystery to me. To start with, I have never figured out what IE stands for. Some sources say it means "International Edition", I like to believe it's for "Incredible Elements". In a grander sense, what IE meant for an Air Jordan 11 Low was that the patent leather mudguard would be replaced by elephant print leather overlaying mesh ventilation windows. That was the biggest variation, along with leather on the saddle instead of Cordura nylon, and a large Jumpman on the tongue in place of the 'Jumpman Jordan' branding. In this way, the IE was given more of a lifestyle dimension than was originally seen on the 11.
Dropping this Saturday is a new colorway of the Air Jordan 11 IE Low with a few modifications that place this shoe even more squarely in the lifestyle world. Nicknamed the "Croc", this pair swaps out the traditional elephant print overlay for MIlitia Green colored, faux-crocodile skin that jumps right off the black leather upper. A gum outsole has also been added, balancing out the similarly hued croc-skin around an all white midsole. Though a departure from the standard 11 IE Low, the "Croc" cuts a more luxe profile with its reptilian-based silhouette and gum sole. These will be available first come, first serve at select City Blue locations, so contact the store nearest you for availability because they will sell out.
